Recreation & Entertainment
Due to the rural atmosphere here, Mother Nature provides the central attraction for locals. Sandy Creek is stocked annually with trout and salmon, there are marinas and yacht clubs, a public boat launch, beaches, and plenty of park land to explore in all seasons.
Hamlin Beach State Park lies within the town borders and each year brings thousands of people to the region to enjoy its facilities, recreational programs, campground and beaches. In addition, the town maintains four parks including the Town Hall site which has 38 acres devoted to ball fields, tennis, basketball, roller hockey and hiking.
The popular Hamlin Wheel Fest is in June, and a Golf Tournament is planned to raise funds for it in May. Earth Day is celebrated in April at Hamlin Beach State Park, which also provides concerts and swimming in the summer, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing in the winter, Civil War encampments, and more. The Hamlin Firemen's Carnival and Parade is a popular event each summer.
